LOWER MERCED & TUOLUMNE TWO-DAY GUIDED TRIP JANUARY 10TH & 11TH

Why wait until opening day to catch fish, then put the rod away in November? We have plenty of opportunities as Sierra Fly Fisher guides on 3 Central Valley tailwaters. The Tuolumne and Merced rivers reopen on January 1st after being closed for the November - December salmon runs. They both hold decent populations of rainbow trout alongside the occasional steelhead. There is no planting of trout in either river, so the fish here are all wild and healthy. It’s mainly nymphing, but we do see some BWO Mayfly hatches that can get some surface activity going. $475 per angler Contact Sierra Fly Fisher 559-367-7467

MONO HOT SPRINGS TWO-DAY GUIDED TRIP OCTOBER 10TH AND 11TH

“Trout Camp” first started in the fall of 1999. It’s really not a Camp at all as we stay at the very comfortable Mono Hot Springs resort. Mono Hot Springs Resort is about as remote as you can reach by automobile in California’s Sierra Nevada. Located between Yosemite and Kings Canyon on the west slope of the Sierra, you’ll find over a dozen natural mineral hot springs running along the south bank of the south fork of the San Joaquin River with cabins at the resort, a restaurant and camping. As you come over Kaiser Pass and see Vermilion Valley everything in view drains down the San Joaquin river. The main attraction in the area in the fall is the lake run Brown Trout. Edison and Florence lakes both have great populations of browns. These fish will start to head up into the lake tributaries in mid-September. This is when TC begins. Both lakes also have great tail water fisheries. $475 per angler Contact Sierra Fly Fisher 559-367-7467
